Regionaler Naturpark Schaffhausen

Regional nature park since 2018

The Schaffhausen region with its natural and cultural landscapes is unique. The hills of the Randen, the vast vineyards and agricultural areas, forests, the typical villages and the Rhine give the region its diversity. The Schaffhausen Nature Park includes the regions of Randen, Südranden, Hochrhein, Klettgau and Reiat.

Randen - Vineyards - Rhine

The varied landscape of Schaffhausen with its slopes, valleys, the hills of the Randen and Reiat, the plain of the Klettgau and the Rhine landscape in the lower part of the canton creates a wide variety of valuable habitats. Together with the typical villages, some of which are of regional or national importance, the region offers visitors unique natural and cultural experiences.

Embedded in a magnificent landscape, yet close to the city and with good public transport connections, the Schaffhausen Regional Nature Park is a valuable recreational area and a sought-after residential location; an area where people still meet in person and maintain a sense of community.

As a networker, enabler or supporter, the Schaffhausen Regional Nature Park works together with innovative stakeholders to create sustainable added value and a strong region. ‘We are actively taking our future into our own hands because we are at home in the nature park; in an area where people still meet in person and cultivate solidarity.’ However, the nature park offers genuine nature experiences, fascinating stories, warm contacts and the enjoyment of regional specialities not only for locals, but also for visitors.
